Aflatoxins are toxins produced by fungi on crops, crop residue, feed ingredients stored under moist conditions. These toxins find the way to milk of the animal fed with infected feed/fodder. The most common type of aflatoxin found in milk is M1, that is harmful to the cow and the consumer as well. Aflatoxins on regular ingestion causes hepatic/liver toxicity.
